Essential Oils 101...And Then Some (A Make And Take Class)

Maybe you've been hearing about essential oils and are curious, or maybe you just like finding ways to make gifts for others and things to use at home for yourself.  Whether it's either, both, or neither but you like to have fun, we'll have a casual get-together that will be fun and informative, too!  Learn about essential oils, how they're made (don't worry, we won't get too science-y!), and all the ways they can be used, from making our houses smell good to replacing health and beauty products to supporting our physical health, too!).  We'll even cover the use of essential oils with and around our pets because they're part of the family, too!  And you'll get to make a couple goodies, too, and get the recipes to make more!  These are easy to make and are great to use yourself and to gifve as gifts for recipes.  (Extra Bonus:  The recipes can also be used to make wonderful holiday gifts!!).

Have you ever seen or heard someone harass, bully, or threaten another person, and wished you knew what to say or do?  Most of us have.  We are all much more likely to be a bystander than a participant or victim of hateful and hurtful words and behavior.  Green Dot teaches safe and proven-effective Bystander Intervention techniques that every member of a community can use, both proactively to change our culture for the better, and reactively to reduce harm.  None of us can do everything, but each of us can do our part to make Lewiston-Auburn a safer and more welcoming community.

Want to learn how to use your iPad/iPhone device for more than making calls, sending messages, or playing games?  Take this course to discover the hidden potential of your device.  We will learn how your device can be used to improve your productivity, organization, and even replace your desktop or laptop computer.  If time allows, we will also learn how to utilize your device as a photography annd video production tool to create photo movies to share.  Participants must provide their own personal iPad or iPhone.

Jewelry Bracelet, Earrings - Findings

Create a bracelet and earrings, along with the findings to but it all together.  Simple ear wires to creating wire style earrings.  For making a bracelet, learn to create chain links and hook and eyes for clasps.  Bring your tools and supplies along with any questions you may have.  Supplies can be purchased through Butler Hill Beads, Joann Fabric, Hobby Lobby or Michael's Craft.  Items you will need: wire can be different colors - 20, 26, 21 or 22 gauge; beads; spacers (if desired).  Some beads or crystals that are 1.6 mm and/or 2 mm (these are for creating wire bead mix).

Maine Driving Dynamics

Maine Driving Dynamics Course offers all drivers the opportunty to improve their defensive driving abilites.  This five-hour course will include discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine's highways.  Those completing the course will receive a certificate and a three-point credit on their driving record.  Seniors over 55 receive a discount on their auto insurance.  

Seniors 65 and older the cost is $25.  

PIYO Live: Introduction To Stretch And Flow

Enjoy learning elements of Pilates and Yoga in a flowing, low-impact cardio sequence set to contemporary music!  This is a wonderful way to end you Monday.  Wear comfortable yoga or fitness clothing.  Bring a mat, towel and a bottle of water.  Class is held at Chill Yoga, 178 Lisbon Street, Lewiston.
